What information do you require from me in order for me to hire a car from you?

Is it possible for you to bring the vehicle to my home or to the airport?

Yes, we provide free vehicle delivery throughout Harare and at Robert Mugabe International Airport.

Are your vehicles insured?

All of our vehicles are fully insured, and clients are just liable for the insurance excess (that component of assessed damage which the insurer will not cover, which often does not exceed 15 percent).

Do you require a deposit and is the security deposit the same for each rental?

Before taking a vehicle from one of the pick-up locations, all customers must make a cash deposit. The deposit is calculated based on the value of the car you are renting.

What should I do in the event of an accident?

In the event of an accident, standard protocols must be followed:

  • Obtain the names and addresses of all parties involved, including any witnesses.
  • To help with your claim, we recommend collecting photos of the accident.
  • As soon as possible, notify the police and The Legacy Car Rental (at most, within 24 hours of the incident.)
  • Within 48 hours of the incident, submit a copy of the driver’s license to The Legacy Car Rental and fill out an Accident Report Form.

Can I specify the make and type of the vehicle I want before I rent it?

The Legacy Car Rental does not guarantee the brand or model of vehicle; nevertheless, your preferences will be noted, and the desired vehicle will be provided if it is available.

Is it possible for someone other than me to drive the vehicle I rented from you?

Yes, as long as they are included on the additional driver list on the documents you filled out; they hold a valid driver’s license and they are over the age of 21.

What is your fuel policy?

The vehicle will be rented with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank at the end of the rental period.

Is it possible to end my contract early without incurring penalties?

You certainly can! We also encourage that you contact us as soon as possible.

Do I need to carry out any vehicle maintenance during the rental?

After passing all of the preliminary procedures, our vehicles are ready to hire. During your rental, you will be obliged to conduct routine inspections (oil level, tyre pressure, etc.) in accordance with reasonable and cautious use. Stay vigilant for any signals from the vehicle’s dashboard warning lights and take any necessary precautions. Should your vehicle breakdown, contact The Legacy Car Rental team immediately.

Is it possible to extend for more days than previously stated?

Yes, you certainly can! As long as you notify us in advance.

How long does it take for the deposit to be refunded?

Within 3 business days.
